ALABAMA IS RIGHT PROUD OF NASA SCIENCE FRAUD JOHN MATHER

Dr. Andrew Hugine, President of Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, got some bad advice from his Physics Department, and ran with it.

A NOTE ADDED ON 2 SEPTEMBER 2010:

In the following news item, Hugine is reaffirming his Physics Department and their decision to bring John Mather to inspire the young:

Q: AAMU has a strong physics program but what are you doing to get AAMU to the top in that field?
A: Our physics faculty are not only securing the resources needed to equip state-of-the-art laboratories, but they are also working diligently to boost awareness among middle and high school students of the opportunities and excitement in STEM areas. Physics administrators are priming the pipeline to ensure that minorities have more opportunities to earn doctoral degrees and become role models for others. Uniquely, AAMU’s Department of Physics hosts an annual public lecture series that features a Nobel Laureate. On Oct. 1, Nobel Laureate John Mather will present the series’ 13th lecture. Moreover, we have a slate of partnerships with NASA that provides immediate research opportunities for our students and faculty.

At one time not so long ago, the JOHN MATHER SPEAKING SCHEDULE would be the envy of people busy in the lecture circuit. Mather himself commented that his main preoccupation was the lecture circuit. Today, if you do an Internet search, you will see that the only thing he has on his schedule is the aamu appearance. No organization is exposing their young to Mather anymore. The world of mainstream physics has wised up, but not aamu Physics Department!

It is fetings such as this – and other fetings from the loony fringes of the scientific establishment like the World Science Festival – that are keeping a science fraud in limelight.
