Rumors are rife that the joint Planck-Bicep2 study will be released September 1. I will give you a proper orientation so that this time around you will not accept any wooden nickels from anyone.
There are at issue two CMB Spectra:
(a). The 2.7 K Blackbody CMB Spectrum: This is the primordial Big Bang relic radiation having the Blackbody form, calculated by Alpher et al. Its observational confirmation by Penzias and Wilson in 1965 is a scam. Its observational confirmation by COBE in 1990 is a fraud. A part of the scientific establishment is maintaining this spectrum to be legit. The rest is maintaining total silence on this issue.
(b). The Planck Satellite CMB Spectrum: This is the actual measured spectrum of CMB radiation. The Planck data points here can be augmented by five more data points from the WMAP Satellite. This spectrum is known today, but is kept secret so that Big Bang Theory and Inflation Theory gravy boats can ride.
When the Planck team calculated CMB polarizations in the sky (as they did dust polarization that serves as the basis of the magnetic field map below), they had to go through the intermediate step of calculating the absolute intensities in the sky. That is the Planck Satellite Spectrum. It is very much in existence.
[CLARIFICATION ADDED 8/25/14: Planck Satellite cannot measure polarization in all its channels. My point is that if they can measure polarization in one channel, it means they can measure the absolute intensity in any channel.]
The prediction of B-Mode polarization of the Inflation Theory is a prediction about the 2.7 K relic Blackbody Spectrum.
Bicep2 is an instrument designed for the peak power of the relic Blackbody Spectrum.
No connection has been established between these prediction and confirmation on one hand, and the actual CMB Spectrum on the other hand. There has not been established anything “relic” about the actual CMB spectrum.
The pretension today by the entire scientific establishment that B-Mode polarization of actual CMB spectrum confirms Inflation Theory is just that, pretension.
Even if B-Mode were to be found in actual CMB, this says nothing about Big Bang or Inflation Theory.
There must first be a clear “mea culpa” retraction of the Blackbody by the Big Bang Cosmologists. Then there must second be established why the actual CMB spectrum is the (revised) end product of the Big Bang explosion and expansion. This must be done on the basis of the same type of detailed analysis that Alpher et al made. Which gives rise to the questions: Why is the Alpher spectrum superceded in Big Bang Theory, and how is the theory now tweaked to fit a given spectrum that is probably far weaker and flatter than the Blackbody?
If B-Mode polarization reported by the Bicep2 Telescope exists in the sky at the power level indicated by Bicep2, there is no way Planck Satellite would have missed this.
Planck has both the raw data and the algorithm on hand to obtain the polarization map in the Bicep2 sky. Planck also has the necessary resolution, especially at the higher frequencies.
If Planck does not see this B-Mode polarization, Bicep2 is proved to be an instrumental botch up.
If Planck says there is too little power in the Bicep2 sky to see this polarization, Bicep2 is proved to be an instrumental botch up.
If a scientifically honest process has taken place, then only one conclusion is possible: Bicep2 is an instrumental botch up. An independent, outside-the-establishment engineering investigation will also confirm this.
But if some elaborate hanky panky starts up again, insist on their clarifying the CMB ambiguity before proceeding any further. Then the jig will be up.
By now they have scammed the taxpayers out of billions of dollars. Enough is enough!
