BIZARRE CELEBRATION AT PRINCETON: “That old gang of mine?”

Have you heard the expression “Rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic”?

How about “Whistling in the graveyard”?

I am trying to think of another example of a bizarre celebration like the one below, but I come up empty.

Four Big Bang Nobel Laureates (John Mather, Saul Perlmutter, Adam Riess and Robert Wilson) joined assorted luminaries at Princeton to celebrate 50 years of excellence in scamming and defrauding the world. Check out the weirdorama here.

Have you heard the Princeton motto “Princeton in the nation’s service and in the service of all nations”?

Or their Latin motto “Dei Sub Numine Viget”, meaning “Under the protection of the Lord she prospers”?

LORD HAVE MERCY!
