ANOTHER FINE JOKE FROM PHYS. REV. LETTERS!

Remember how PRL published the BICEP2 paper with great fanfare? A telescope artifact was passed off as a grand Big Bang discovery.

Then they had to retract the paper.

And now for an encore!

Recorded traces of a sudden ionospheric disturbance by LIGO are passed off as detection of gravitational waves given off by two black holes doing the partner dance.

Physical Review Letters has become a veritable wellspring of intellectual humor.

LORD HAVE MERCY!
